What's PEEL About?
PEEL is a youth-centered sexual violence prevention & youth leadership program in Tacoma, aimed to build space for youth ages 14-19 to learn & discuss about prevention, leadership, and facilitation skills, and to provide meaningful community supports and opportunities. PEEL Peer Educators meet 2x a month to learn about new topics, discuss issues in their community, and develop youth-led workshops and events in Tacoma centered on identity respect and prevention of harm.
What To Expect for this Meeting:
This interest meeting will serve as our kickoff for our PEEL Re-boot, with an awesome new venue for our meetings, a little more youth leadership and structure to how our group works, and a chance for returning and new youth to learn more about becoming PEEL Peer Educators as we jump into our new Peer Educator Cycle.
We will talk a bit about our program, what prevention means to us, expectations for being a Peer Educator, and topics and activities we are planning for the coming months. Mostly though, this is a chance for us to start getting to know each other and building a strong PEEL Peer Educator team of youth leaders for our February-June Peer Educator cycle.
**Snacks, beverages, & a cool art project provided!**
Who is this Meeting For?!
This is a meeting primarily for returning or new youth who are wanting to become PEEL Peer Educators for our February - June program cycle. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend as well if they are able. We do not have childcare for younger youth on-site currently, but please feel free to contact if this would be helpful and we'll see what we can do to make it happen!
**Real Art Tacoma is an ADA accessible space, with 2 gender-neutral bathrooms on-site.**
